Federal authorities say a Cambria County man has been sentenced to decades behind bars after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a young child.

Officials with the Department of Justice say 41-year-old Michael Sollenberger, of Ashville, will serve at least 36 years in prison after entering a guilty plea, last summer, to three counts, including the production and possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Sollenberger was charged in 2020 after investigators say they found a video of him reportedly raping a young girl.

Authorities say Sollenberger admitted to taking naked photographs of a young female, between the ages of 8 and 10-years-old.

Investigators say he also confessed to touching the young girl and performing sex acts with her, and that he recorded a video of one of the acts.
