
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. — Several officers and civilians in Clearfield County are being recognized for their service this week in honor of National Police Week, according to a press release by Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers.
National Police Week kicks off May 15 on Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day that, since 1962, remembers the men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty.
According to the press release, the purpose of this week is to “pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and to voice our appreciation for all those who currently serve on the front lines of the battle against crime.”
The press release states that, as a way to celebrate these men and women during National Police Week, Sayers has announced the nominees for Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and Civilian of the year, which he says will be presented this week and are in recognitions of endeavors and exceptional service between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.
The press release lists the nominees for Law Enforcement Officer of the Year as Trooper Tyler Blaniar, Pennsylvania State Police (DuBois), Trooper Raymond Green, Pennsylvania State Police (Woodland), Officer David Hoover, Clearfield Regional Police Department, Deputy Greg Neeper, Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department and Sergeant Jonathan Walker, Clearfield Regional Police Department.
Sayers states that it is also important to thank those people and businesses that support the efforts of the law enforcement community in the county, and lists the nominees for Civilian of the Year as Justin Butterworth, PCO at PSP Clearfield, Carney Cataldo, Cataldo’s Collision, Inc. and Dave and Amy Duke, Ice Dreams Ice Cream Truck.
