LOGAN TOWNSHIP – Logan Township Police Chief Tim Mercer will resign from his job in March because of an undisclosed medical issue.
His resignation was accepted by Logan Township supervisors Thursday night.
Mercer’s last day will be March 6, 2018. He previously retired from the Pennsylvania State Police.
“This has not been an easy decision for me,” Mercer said in his resignation letter. “I can assure everyone that I have given this an immense amount of thought and prayer. Earlier this year, I developed a significant and unexpected health-related issue.
“Learning of this news truly stunned me and caused me to re-evaluate everything in my life. It was one of those moments in life that stops you in your tracks and makes you re-evaluate many things.”
