LIGONIER, Pa. (WJAC) — Idlewild & SoakZone will kick off its 144th season this weekend, park officials say.
The park will open Saturday.
Officials say military will get into the park for free during Memorial Day weekend and there will be new foods and events to welcome guests back.
“Our classic amusement rides and theme areas like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and the SoakZone water park offer plenty to smile about,” said Brandon Leonatti, General Manager.
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — This is the busiest time of year for food banks like Faith Centre.
The amount of volunteers peaks around the holidays, a time of year where people focus on giving back.
But this is also a time of year that can get stressful when it comes down to money.
Food banks provide assistance to people on fixed incomes and working families with children.
People come in to get boxes of food for their families and their pets.

SOMERSET – Winter weather affected many people who were using the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Monday. Those traveling on the turnpike likely ran into extensive delays and road closures.
The eastbound and westbound lanes were both closed Monday -- at different times -- for short periods due to tractor trailers jackknifing.
It was a busy day for first responders and road crews, as many drivers were not expecting snow after the warm weekend weather.
