WASHINGTON (TND) — Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley claimed she was a victim of racism in her early childhood during a recent interview, sparking outrage on social media.
Haley was born in the U.S. to two Sikh parents from India., USA Today reported. This, Haley claimed while speaking with NBC Sunday, caused her to have a difficult upbringing while growing up in South Carolina.
“We were the only Indian family in our small southern town,” the Republican said.

BOALSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — A military monument was dedicated Sunday in Centre County. The monument at the Pennsylvania Military History Museum honors Pennsylvanians who died in the Battle of the Bulge, during World War II.

UPDATE:GULICH TWP., Pa. (WJAC) — One person was killed in Saturday night's fire in Gulich Township, according to the family of the victim.
State police are still investigating the fire and have not released further details.
Crews from four different counties were dispatched to the garage fire along Simpson Street around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The family also confirmed to 6 News that a dog was killed in the fire as well.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJLA) — Grocery shoppers in the D.C. area will need to downsize their zippered bags when visiting Giant Food.
The supermarket chain stated that starting late last week, suitcases, duffel bags, and bags larger than 14" x 14” x 6” that close have been banned at select stores in Washington, D.C.
In a statement, officials explained that they initiated the new policy at select stores "experiencing high shrink to mitigate the unprecedented levels of product theft that have become unsustainable for our business.
