Galliker's Dairy lays off 11 farmers from its dairy production

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP -- Galliker’s Dairy has laid off 11 farmers from its dairy production. Officials say they have been operating with a huge surplus of milk for years. Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Evan Fineman says it was a difficult decision, but necessary financially. He says the milk volume from farmers goes up significantly each year, but at the same time, the amount of Galliker’s fluid milk sales have been going down.

Local produce grower purchases former Cresson Sanatorium, will offer tours

CAMBRIA CO, Pa (WJAC) — The former Cresson Sanatorium and Cresson State Correctional Institution is coming back to life. The site was recently purchased by a company named “Big House Produce,” and they are hosting guided tours of the facilities to raise money for ongoing restoration projects. One injured after train collides with SUV in Cambria County

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say one person was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a train versus passenger vehicle collision. 911 officials say the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the area of Krings Street and Eisenhower Blvd. in Richland. According to a witness, the SUV was reportedly stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a CSX freight train. Flaggers were also reportedly nearby, directing traffic, as that intersection has seen a recent increase in traffic due to a local detour.

Search warrants reveal dozens of dead animals, animal body parts seized from Virginia zoo

Tire shop employee takes joyride during test drive of customer's car

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) — A customer at a tire shop was shocked to learn an employee took his car for a test drive at twice the speed limit in a residential neighborhood. The dash cam was rolling when the joy ride started. Chue Lee recently bought new tires for his Toyota Scion at West Coast Wheels and Tires in Clovis, California. He said he was shocked to see the dash cam video after the tires were installed.
