Free turkey giveaway to help local families

Next week in Somerset County, MGP Rat Bikes and 3C’s Church will be giving away 100 turkeys. It's an annual event that helps local families enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without worrying about the cost. Organizers say they've been receiving calls about the event and that they look forward to doing it each year. Michael Ragozzino, pastor of 3C’s Church, said, “We wanted to make sure people know that we’re not just a bike shop, that we have a church here, 3C’s Church is on Boyers Pond Campground, we’re open on Sundays at 10:30.

iCare to temporarily stop accepting COVID test requests due to backlog

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — iCare Urgent Care centers are temporarily stopping and restarting COVID-19 testing throughout the day so they can catch up on their backlog, officials say. They say this is due to an overwhelming demand and limited staffing and supplies. Officials say you may check their website one hour and it says no testing at the moment, but they do say check back again periodically to see if testing might be available again.

Local restaurant owner worried about future shutdowns

Now, there's word there may be another round of shutdown orders in Pennsylvania. In Bellefonte, several restaurants initially recently stayed open during the latest state health department order to close. The Waffle Shop wasn’t one of them. Fox News reported it had gotten ahold of an agenda for the donor event in Palm Beach showing Sen. Tim Scott, Sen. J.D. Vance, Sen. Marco Rubio, Gov. Doug Burgum, Gov. Kristi Noem, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Rep. Byron Donalds, and Vivek Ramaswamy are going to be in attendance.
